Privacy notice

Updated October 12, 2026. SIP Labs, Inc. operates Spotted in Prod. For privacy questions, contact support@spottedinprod.com.

Account and community information

When you sign in, SIP receives your email address, name, profile image and a provider identifier. We use this information to authenticate your account and operate the service. We also process the profile information, comments, follows, saved references and uploads you provide. Public profiles, comments and shared work can be visible to other people.

Service providers

Apple or Google handles authentication when you use those sign-in options. Our hosting, media storage, search, analytics and email providers process information needed to deliver the service. Requests may include technical information such as your IP address, device/browser information and the content or query needed for a feature. Payment providers handle membership payments and may retain transaction records under their own retention policies.

On your device

The iOS app stores sign-in credentials in the device’s Keychain. SIP stores preferences, cached media and locally saved references on your device; the website uses cookies and browser storage for sessions and preferences. The iOS app’s blocked-user list is device-local and does not restrict the other person’s account.

Reports and support

Reporting from the iOS app prepares an email with the content reference you selected. You choose whether to send it. Your email provider and SIP receive the information you send, including any additional details you provide.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information to operate SIP while your account exists. Signing out does not delete your account. You can delete your account and associated data from Settings → Delete account and data in the iOS app, or Settings → Account on the website. After you type the confirmation phrase, deletion is scheduled for 30 days later and your existing sessions are revoked immediately. You can sign in and cancel deletion from Settings before the shown deadline; signing in alone does not cancel it. When the grace period ends, deletion removes your account and associated profile, upload, comment, follow and saved-reference records. Uploaded files are removed through a retrying storage-cleanup process. Cached copies may remain temporarily, and copies independently shared or saved by others may remain outside SIP’s control.

Active SIP subscriptions are canceled when deletion completes during account deletion. Payment providers may retain legally required billing records. If you separately subscribed to a newsletter through its public signup form, that subscription is independent of your SIP account; use its unsubscribe link to stop those emails.
